Routine, professional dental care is an important part of your family’s health care. The School District’s Dental Plan offers two choices of dental coverage through Cigna. Both cover a variety of preventive, basic, and major services.
These choices allow you to choose a plan that best meets your family’s needs. The plan options differ in the level of coverage they provide and the amount you pay for each option. Your choices include:
-
Dental Plan Option A (higher benefits)
Plan A offers the highest level of dental coverage. This plan stresses preventive care to help you and your family avoid serious dental problems. The plan pays 100% of the covered cost (usual and customary charges) of preventive services. It also pays 80% of the covered cost (usual and customary charges) of basic, services, and 50% of major services and orthodontia care. The maximum benefit you can receive under this plan each year is $1,000 per person. Orthodontia care carries a separate $1,000 per person lifetime maximum. - Dental Plan Option B (lower benefits)
Plan B provides you and your family with a basic level of dental coverage. Like Plan A, Plan B covers ongoing preventive and basic care, as well as benefits for major services such as dentures and crowns. Plan B pays 70% of the covered cost (usual and customary charges) for most basic services, and 50% of the covered cost of major services after a deductible has been met. Orthodontia care has a lifetime maximum of $1,000 per person in network, and $500 out of network.
Dependents are eligible to age 26.
